MAC Mineralize Skin Finish

MAC Vanilla Pigment

For the last few years, I’ve found it difficult to get the right balance when highlighting my face. I have many different highlighting products from Revlon, Benefit, MAC amongst others. My default was has generally been Revlon Skinlights Natural Light Cream (discontinued) under foundation for a dewy glow and MACs Vanilla pigment for a more photographic, evening look.

However, I’ve never been convinced by Vanilla pigment on me. I’ve used it on plenty of other actresses and models and it’s looked beautiful, but it was never quite right on me. This is because my skin has definite pink undertones. Vanilla works best on those with a more olive complexion. I tried Revlon Skinlights powder, but that’s almost too sparkly for a highlighter, although I like the colour.

Revlon Skinlights Loose Powder

Finally I stumbled across MACs mineralize skin finish in Soft and Gentle (I stumbled across it when I accidentally found myself seeking out treats in MAC and spending far too much cash). I decided to take it home and give it a go and I have to say, I’m completely convinced by this. It’s subtle enough to look natural, yet put a bit more on and it’s great for a more dramatic look, whether weddings, photographic shoot or just standing out in a dark club.

All Hail! MAC Skinfinish in Soft and Gentle….Hurrah!

I’ve worn this virtually every day since buying it and have had many compliments and enquiries about it. I’ve had family and friends requesting it as a birthday present and have used it on many individual clients, in film and fashion and there’s still so much left of it. It’s my new wonder product and has solved all my highlighting woes.  Hurrah to that!
